George Ward Park
Course Summary
George Ward Park in Birmingham, AL, holds a solid rating of 4.3 stars as a disc golf course, reflecting a generally positive reception from its players. Reviewers frequently praise the course for its well-thought-out layout, the variety of features that cater to both beginners and experienced players, and the overall enjoyment of playing there. However, some criticisms have been noted, particularly regarding the course's maintenance and the clarity of navigation between holes. These issues seem to detract from the otherwise positive experience, suggesting room for improvement in upkeep and signage to guide players more effectively throughout the course.
Unique to George Ward Park are certain features that stand out, such as the scenic beauty and the strategic placement of holes that challenge players to use a wide range of skills. Despite these strengths, players have faced challenges, including overgrown areas that can affect play and the occasional confusion over hole locations due to insufficient signage. Addressing these challenges could significantly enhance the player experience, making the course more accessible and enjoyable

Beautiful park except for all the trash. There are piles of trash and trash thrown about the entire park. There are needles all over the ground, so be cautious if you bring little children. Could be a really nice park except it is not maintained well.

Disc golf course, tennis and pickleball. You need to pay at the clubhouse for tennis or pickleball. The courts are well maintained. The disc golf course is nice, but a little hard to follow. Adding hole numbers to the targets would be a nice improvement that shouldn't cost too much. The terrain is rocky and hilly in places. It would be easy to twist an ankle if you are not watching where you are walking.

Great disc golf course and a great park if it wasnt over ran with homeless people sleeping in the gazebos and setting up camp all over the park. My wife tried to take my money to the restroom until she saw a few guys doing drugs outside the restroom. Looks like it used to be a great place

It was a great at the park. Attended an HBCU gathering! The heat and humidity was high , but the pavilion was a life saver for me.
